Abstract: A venti anni di distanza un giornalista torna al Quarticciolo, richiamato da un fatto di cronaca nera, per una inchiesta su questo antico e periferico quartiere di Roma. Riesce ad intervistare anche il padre del "Gobbo del Quarticciolo". Un'indagine sui mutamenti verificatisi dopo la guerra e ciò che invece è rimasto nel tempo. Rilievo dei vari aspetti della vita economica e sociale dei diversi gruppi e ceti. Una panoramica sul quartiere romano della estrema periferia nato in seguito agli sventramenti del centro storico per far luogo alle grandi vie del regime, e come compenso abitativo per la popolazione sfrattata. Ha tutte le caratteristiche delle borgate del periodo, con un palazzo alto al centro che doveva essere la Casa del Fascio, mai usata e diventata un commissariato.

Abstract: Twenty years later, a journalist returns to Quarticciolo, drawn by a crime story, for an investigation into this ancient and peripheral neighborhood of Rome. He also manages to interview the father of the "Hunchback of Quarticciolo". An investigation of the changes that occurred after the war and what remained over time. Survey of the various aspects of the economic and social life of the different groups and classes. An overview of the Roman neighborhood on the far outskirts, created following the demolition of the historic center to make way for the regime's main streets, and as housing compensation for the evicted population. It has all the characteristics of the hamlets of the period, with a tall building in the centre that must have been the Casa del Fascio, never used and which became a police station.
